Operation Meditation

Operation Meditation is a trauma-informed meditation program designed to support veterans and their families, along with civilians living with PTSD, alcoholism, addiction, anger, and chronic stress, in regaining a sense of stability and control.

This program introduces multiple meditation and nervous system regulation styles, including mindfulness, grounding, and sound-based techniques, as well as somatic and transcendental practices. Every practice is designed to be accessible, practical, and rooted in scientific research rather than spiritual or religious belief systems.

Operation Meditation is not a quick fix or a replacement for therapy. It is a structured, supportive path that helps individuals build awareness, emotional regulation, and internal safety so real healing can begin. The goal is not to suppress thoughts or emotions, but to develop the tools needed to process them safely and regain agency over one’s inner experience.

Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace, modify practices as needed, and engage only to the level that feels safe. The program emphasizes self-compassion, choice, and curiosity as essential components of long-term recovery and post-traumatic growth.

Meet Your Meditation Instructor

My name is Richard Shubert. I am a combat veteran, a trauma-informed meditation counselor, and the founder of Operation Meditation.

Like many others, I came to meditation as a last resort. After struggling with PTSD, alcoholism, addiction, anger, and the long-term effects of trauma, I began searching for something that could help me regain control of my life. What I found was not an escape, but a set of practical tools that helped me understand my nervous system, regulate my emotions, and begin healing in a sustainable way.

I have trained with multiple instructors and organizations, including Warriors at Ease, and continue to study trauma-informed approaches rooted in science rather than belief systems. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. That’s just not what we’re doing here.

This program was created to offer the kind of support I wish I had earlier. This work is about meeting people where they are, offering real tools that work, and walking alongside others as they build a healthier relationship with themselves and their lives.

Operation Meditation exists because I know change is possible, even when it doesn’t feel that way yet. And whenever you're ready to walk this path, you won't have to do it alone.
