Counseling services help the veteran and their family build broader support structures to maximize community, well being and civilian engagement.
The needs assessment identifies areas where we can come alongside our veterans and their support system. Familes are then connected to relevant services, classes and activities.
Family coaching helps build awareness, understanding and communication skills to enhance the veteran support system. Understanding the impacts of prior military service, family systems that developed while the veteran was deployed or active duty and integrating the family back together into a more integrated functioning unit are primary goals of family coaching.
Peer to peer counseling is available to both veterans, spouses and broader support system members. Individuals are connected with people that have shared similar experiences and are further along in their journey.
Play therapy help veterans engage and re-connect with spouses, children and others in a less threatening and active situation. Play therapy is an effective tool for increasing interaction, moving past barriers and stronger family dynamic and overall support.
